DO YOU KNOW WHAT WE’RE DOING IN OUR COMMUNITY—

AND AROUND THE WORLD?

Rotary members unite at home and across the globe to put our experience and knowledge to work tackling our most pressing challenges. We focus our efforts in seven areas: promoting peace, preventing diseases, providing access to clean water and sanitation, enhancing maternal and child health, improving basic education and literacy, helping communities develop, and the environment.

We are especially dedicated to ending polio in our lifetimes. Rotary members have persevered in this fight since 1979 and have now helped eradicate polio in all but three countries worldwide.

Locally we participate in many activities serving our community including.

  • RYLA - Leadership Camp for High School  Juniors

  • High School Interact Club

  • JC Fremont Clinic Garden Clean Up

  • Shoe Project

  • Sober Grad Night

  • Rotary Speech Contest

  • Support for KRZY local radio

  • Historic Plaque Project

  • Adopt A Highway Clean Up

  • Third Grade Dictionary Project

  • Veterans Appreciation Day

  • HERO (Helping Everyone Recognize and Overcome)

INTERNATIONAL PROJECTS

WORLD ACCESS PROJECT

In 2004 we started wheelchair collections and our "HERO" club which was a part of Rotary's awareness of the disabled...the collection of mobility equipment helped disadvantaged folks in our local community as well as it supported our international outreach through The World Access Project in Mexico for the poor, disabled there.

We continue to have mobility devices available to our local community and through World Access Project, we have connected with Jonnie and Friends (Wheels to the World) to get equipment and chairs refurbished through prison programs and then shipped deep into Mexico for distribution. Our town alone has donated into this program over 700 wheelchairs, 1,500 walkers, crutches, and canes for distribution to the poor disabled.  Our rotary club continues to support World Access Project through grants and donations and many club members have gone on the annual trips to help distribute this equipment.  This July 2022 will see many more rotary members participate as well.
Mariposa Mini-Storage (via Bill Yaley) has donated a storage unit for this program. Each team member from Mariposa will be accompanying a chair down to Mexico.
